Fund-raising Statement

Background
Econet is an independent conservation group whose aim is to conserve and to promote awareness and enjoyment of, the natural environment in public open spaces and other sites through out the Reading area.

All members of Econet are volunteers.

Purpose
The purpose of this document is to outline how the group will obtain funding in order to continue its activities.

The main items of expenditure by the group relate to:

Provision of insurance, in particular public liability and personal accident insurance.

Provision of tools and other equipment.

Publicity.

Volunteers' expenses (see Volunteer Policy for details).

Policy
Econet will use fund-raising as the primary means of providing funds sustaining its activities. It may also make charges for the tasks it undertakes but will only do so where it considers this to be appropriate.

Funding may be sought from all practically and legally available sources, providing no conflict exists with Econet's own aims and objectives as set out in its constitution.

Sources of funding may include:

Grants (from Local Authorities and other organisations).

Sales organised by the group or in association with other groups.

Other activities as may be deemed appropriate by members of the group from time to time.

In accordance with its constitution, no annual subscription will be charged for membership of the group.

Meeting the Policy
Econet will hold regular meetings at which a summary of the group's finances will be given allowing the need for new fund-raising to be reviewed.

Review
Econet will regularly review this statement and take whatever additional measures may be deemed necessary at that time.
