Clearing birch scrub - Wokefield Common

These photo's where probably taken during CROW's first visit to Wokefield Common in January 2006 although it is possible that they are from our second visit in January 2007. As it happens it was bitterly cold for both these visits and whilst the snow was not deep and thick and even, there was certainly a light covering.

Judith and Alan feeding the bonfire with the birch and pine scrub being cleared as part of the heathland restoration. John is to be seen amongst the trees.

Judith enjoys (we hope) a hot drink and warms herself by the fire.
